

The goal of the project is to empower communities disproportionately impacted by hydroclimatic extremes to achieve resilience through collaborative research and justice-focused adaptation strategies.
Through this research, the team hopes to mitigate the disproportionate impacts of climate-induced water hazards by:
Climate change intensifies the frequency of extreme events, exacerbating the risk of hazards such as floods, leading to economic instability, social trauma, and harm to health.
The HydroRISE project spans eight parishes across the U.S. Gulf Region, including Southern Louisiana, Central Mississippi, and Southwestern Alabama.
